All shot on a Flip HD, edited on iMovie. When my parents were in town in April, we took the ferry from Seattle up to Victoria, B.C. and this is some of the footage. The soundtrack (aka what makes the whole thing) is “Airlift” by Dosh (off of his amazing TOMMY LP on Anticon Records. Go buy it now. Seriously. Not joking). Past that, things have been incredibly busy. I’ve just done some of the site design and the official poster design for the 2010 Georgetown Music Festival. Poster will be for sale at the event, and I’ll have some for sale myself after it’s done.

Past that, I’ve been busy working for VML & Wunderman here in Seattle on some crazy projects for T-Mobile, and I’m about to dig in on some Microsoft work again for a few months. Can’t complain, but still always looking for new creative endeavors, so send some my way, please!

It was a pretty exciting project, and tons of fun to work with a company that I love. Give it a look, and maybe even learn something about the great outdoors while you’re at it!

I’ve been busy working on stuff for REI and Microsoft these days; driving a lot back and forth from Seattle to Kent to Seattle to Redmond. Rinse, repeat. Doing some cool stuff at both places…more work to show soon, so keep checking back in.

So, this has been a bit of a crazy month for me.
First, I am celebrating my one year anniversary of moving to Seattle, WA. It’s been an amazing year, full of meeting new people, great new opportunities, and some of the loveliest scenery I’ve ever witnessed. Seattle, you are a strange and wonderful city. Thanks for welcoming me.

Secondly, I’ve been playing drums with a band that I’m super excited about; Ladyfriend. I designed the flier above for our show at Chop Suey in a couple weeks. Please come out if you’re in the Seattle area.

Thirdly, I’m 99% done with artwork for a promotional piece for Pearl Jam and Cameron Crowe. I can’t give too many details about the project, other than it’s been an incredible thrill and honor to work for one of the formative bands and influential writers/directors of my lifetime. I should have examples of it up here on the site in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.

Here’s a couple sneak peaks of some works in progress here at Kentucky Chrome Industries. Keep your eyes peeled for these space explorers to make their way onto some products in the near future. We’ll let you know when it happens.

So, as the locals have made a habit of absolutely driving into my head, winters in Seattle are indeed long and grueling. Things are grey and drizzly and overcast and a little chilly; those rare moments of sunshine feel something like being reborn. However, I’ve had the good fortune of seeing some incredible things lately, one being the Delta Spirit/Other Lives/Dawes show at the Tractor Tavern, and another being the John Roderick (The Long Winters) “How To Write Like I Do” workshop at 826 Seattle. Lots of inspiration abound these days.

What’s new with you?  Hopefully 2009 is off to a great start for you.
Here at Kentucky Chrome.com, we’ve put a new coat of paint on things, updated some things, and have fresh mice running around in freshly-oiled wheels to make some good new stuff happen here.

So, do be a little lamb and go check out the new music-y related design (under the “ROCKERS” section) as well as some of the more corporate-related designs (under the “SUITS” section), and see what’s new.  There should be quite a bit more updating happening this week, so please keep checking back and see what we’ve been working on lately.

Things have been a bit crazy lately. I was on assignment for The Pitch in Lawrence covering all 4 days of the Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival. Photos are being edited and added soon, but if you want to read my Wakajournal, this is a pretty good place to do such a thing. I got to see the Flaming Lips, Dr. Dog (twice), Apollo Sunshine, Limbeck, Alejandro Escovedo, Ben Folds, and quite a few others, so do check it out if you like music and making fun of hippies.

Things have been pretty busy ’round these parts lately, aside from hippie festival attendings. I just got done with some CD artwork for SUPER CONSUMERS out of Philadelphia, and I’m currently working on some other web and print projects, but I’m still looking for other work…so if you need some design work, give me a shout.
